How I made a Book Trailer for my graphic novel

After publishing “Nanyang A Graphic Novel” on Amazon, I started developing the next book in the trilogy. With the concept and a mockup completed I put the project on the back burner. When I was about to resume work by hand-drawing the old school way, as I have done with the first book, an emerging technology burst upon the creative world. Artificial Intelligence! The buzz was too loud to ignore, the mania infectious. Joining millions across the planet I soaked up the tutes from the pioneering experts, trying out various platforms and made generative content for posters, t-shirts and ads. Soon my attention returned to the graphic novel. After finishing a couple of chapters I thought it might be an idea to shout out the book with a teaser. The keyframes were generated on Leoardo AI. I started by sketching out the storyboard and proceeded with recording the VO using macOS builtin text-to-speech TextEdit. AI and I: The Birth of a Fantasy Adventure Romance

Front cover With the whole world still in the grip of AI mania, I have produced an AI-assisted fantasy adventure romance about the birth of the Merlion, Singapore's most loved icon. It tells of a chance encounter between a lion and a mermaid on a beach in Singapore in a time of myths and legends. It was love at first sight. But their love was forbidden, and the lion had to embark on a perilous quest to win the heart of the mermaid. Love triumphed and soon a legend was born. The Merlion.  My journey began with outlining the story and feeding it into ChatGPT and prompting it to expand the story. It worked at light speed, spewing out the result in under two minutes. After some variations and editing, the script was ready. Earlier I had generated the images for the story using Leonardo AI. I used both the platform models and the community ones. AI and I: Introducing a new bromance

AI has taken the world by storm since the launch of ChatGPT and yours truly has also been swept up by the current. In the process I have tried ChatGPT for text composing, Dall-E 2 and Leonardo.AI for image generation, and will be poking around several others that do text to voice, text to video and other marvels of AI to get an overview of all the buzz and hype that has set the art world on fire.  Finally I settled down to do some real work and enlisted Leonardo to help out. After testing Leonardo, hereinafter Leon for short, on several quick projects I decided to prompt him to generate a picture of three koi fish. In 30 seconds flat he composed the requested 4 images, one of which I selected for further development.  One of four images done by Leonardo It appears Leon hasn't got much input on koi as the anatomical members per fish and their details could be better, or my prompts were not particularly specific to be helpful.
